CCMC508 Perennial Birthday

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Love the sketch for today! I decided to use the Perennial Birthday stamp set for my card…along with the gorgeous new Grapefruit Grove color and Share What You Love Designer Paper…a little old with the new!

Here’s what I did. I love the contrast of Grapefruit Grove with Basic Black…really makes it pop!

Stampin’ details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Grapefruit Grove that has been embossed with the Ruffled Embossing Folder.
A 1 x 4-3/4 strip of Basic Black cardstock was added to the left side.
Three Share What You Love Designer Paper panels sized 1-1/4 x 2 were added over the Basic Black strip of cardstock.
Three flowers from Perennial Birthday were stamped with Memento Black on scrap Whisper White and colored with a sponge dauber and Grapefruit Grove Ink, and the leaves with Lemon Lime Twist. They were hand cut and added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Perfect White Accents were added to the centers.
Happy Birthday from Perennial Birthday was stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink and cut with the small Layering Ovals.

IM18 – Daisy

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Isn’t this Daisy cake so wonderfully bright and springy looking? I’d love to get a cake like this for my birthday!

So, here is what I came up with using the cake as inspiration. I know I could have used the Daisy Punch, but I made this at a stamping retreat I attended and I didn’t bring that punch. So, I looked around at what I did bring (my Framelits!) and found this petal in the Leaflets Framelits! I think it worked out great for my daisy!!! AND…I used one of the new In Colors…Grapefruit Grove in the background!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Grapefruit Grove cardstock.
Seven petals were cut with the Leaflet Framelits from Whisper White cardstock and one was stamped with the greeting from Happy Birthday Gorgeous in Memento Black Ink.
The two leaves were cut from Pear Pizzazz using one of the other leaf framelits.
In the center, Daffodil Delight cardstock was punched with the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.

CCMC507 Flying Home

We have a color challenge this time on Create with Connie and Mary! I decided to use my Flying Home stamp set again on my card…soon it will be retired and I’ll need to put it away! It is another one that I may keep…love the birdhouse and the bird’s nest in it! We have some Blue Jays in our back yard…love to see their bright blue color in the trees!

Here’s what I designed:

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The top portion of the 4 x 5-1/4 Island Indigo cardstock is embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder and the bottom portion has a 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Coffee Break Designer Paper added.
A piece of White Metallic Edge Ribbon hides the seam.
A 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 banner of Crumb Cake was added down the front and cut with a flag end.
The nest image from Flying Home Stamp Set was stamped with Archival Black on Whisper White and cut with the Layering Oval Framelit. It was watercolored with Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Crushed Curry Markers and the AquaPainter.

IM17 – Ribbon of Courage

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! The inspiration photo this time seems to celebrate spring! I love the abstract background with the fresh looking daisies!

I went with a daisy “look” and rather than using the actual Daisy Punch, I used the Ribbon of Courage flower for a more abstract look.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Dapper Denim cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was watercolored with Dapper Denim Ink using an AquaPainter.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Birthday Memories Designer Paper was added on front, with a 1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Dapper Denim running down the side.
Three flowers were cut from Whisper White with the Support Ribbon Framelits and then 1/2″ circles of Crushed Curry cardstock added in the center and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Lots of Happy stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the background.
Finally, some Glitter Dots were added for a little bling.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Motivational Greetings

Hello everyone! The theme for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary’s Saturday Blog Hop is “Motivational Greetings”. This is a WIDE open interpretation…Stampin’ Up! has a lot of great greetings in their stamp sets. It was hard just choosing one! I went with the greeting in Cozy Cottage Hostess set…”A journey is always better with a friend”. Very appropriate as I am with friends at a stamping retreat as I type this post!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 4 piece of True Gentlemen Designer Paper was added across the left side.
3-1/4 x 5 piece of Sahara Sand cardstock is added on the front.
The cottage from Cozy Cottage stamp set was stamped with Black Archival Ink and then watercolored with Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Real Red and Sahara Sand and an AquaPainter. It was added to the Sahara Sand layer.
A 1/8 x 5 strip of Night of Navy cardstock was added across the front.
The “motivational” greeting was stamped with Black Archival Ink was stamped on Sahara Sand and the punched with the Tailored Tag Punch.
A couple gold Metallic Enamel Shapes were added to the tag.

CCMC506 Bird Banter

Hello everyone! We have a FUN sketch for you to try this week on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! I had a blast making this card! I used the soon to retire Bird Banter stamp set…going to miss this sweet little set. I love the greetings in it and will definitely keep it just for those!

Here’s what I came up with…

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, embossed with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.
The 2-1/4 x 4 “pocket” shape was hand cut from the Tutti Fruiti Designer Paper Stack and layered on Tranquil Tide cut to the same shape.
The bird, flower and branches from Bird Banter were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White and colored with Stampin’ Blends, then cut out and added to the “pocket” with Stampin’ Dimensionals (the branch just adhered with Tombow Glue).
The greeting was stamped with Tranquil Tide on Whisper White and cut with the Petals & More Thinlit Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

IM16 – Bubble Over

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! The inspiration photo this time reminded me of bubbles! SO…what better set to use than Bubble Over Stamp Set! I’m glad to see that this set will be in the new catalog! It’s a fun and different set!

Here’s what I came up with!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tempting Turquoise cardstock (one of the retiring colors!), scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Rich Razzleberery cardstock added on top.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White was stamped with Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry bubbles along the left side.
The larger bottle was in the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits was cut from Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry. The top portion of the Rich Razzleberry bottle was cut off and then adhered over the Whisper White cardstock bottle.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black on Tempting Turquoise and cut with a Framelit, then added to the front of the bottle.
And the straw was cut from Tempting Turquoise and adhered behind the bottle.
Two Tailored Tags were punched from Silver Foil and added across the front. A 3/8 x 4 piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock was added across the tags.
The bottle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, some Metallic Enamel circles were added in with the stamped bubbles for a little bling.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – All About Neutrals

Hello everyone! The theme for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary’s Saturday Blog Hop is “All About Neutrals”…no colors, just neutrals on our cards! Personally I love the Crumb Cake and Basic Black “color” combination. I go thru a LOT of Crumb Cake cardstock! I pulled out another Annual Catalog stamp set, Wood Words to use on my card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1 x 5-1/2 piece of Petal Passion Designer paper was added to the left edge, then a 3/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake added next to it.
A 3 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock was slanted in the background.
On the 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock, the background floral from Wood Words was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink.
Linen Thread was wrapped around several times and tied with a bow on the front. It was added at a different angle on the front.
The shabby circle from Wood Words was stamped with Crumb Cake ink on scrap Whisper White, then Thank You with Memento Black Ink on top. It was punched with the 1-1/4 Circle Punch, then layered on the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch of Crumb Cake, and then layered on a 1-1/2 Circle Punch of Basic Black. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A few scattered Metallic Enamel Shapes finished off the card.
