CCMC362 Best Thoughts

It’s Thursday again (already!) and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! It’s a fun color challenge. You’ll see that I deviated just slightly on my card…my flower needed green leaves and stem, it just didn’t look right in Crumb Cake! I tried it and it looked like my poor flower was dying! lol!

So here’s my card:

The details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp and White Craft Ink.
Over that is a 2-1/2 x 4 strip of Brights Designer Paper Stack, then a 1/2 x 4 piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock over that.
The greeting from Best Thoughts was stamped with Black Stazon ink in the upper right corner.
The large flower from Best Thoughts was stamped with Black Stazon Ink on Whisper White, then using a Blender Pen and Ink Pads, the flower was colored with Lost Lagoon and Old Olive, then cut out and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a Crumb Cake button was tied with White Bakers Twine and added to the strip of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

I LOVE the Blue Hydrangea bushes in my yard and this card reminds me of them!

Birthday Blossoms

Ahhh, flower stamp sets…just love them! Can’t have enough, right? Here’s a new favorite set of mine, Birthday Blossoms!

Again, most of these items were already cut and on my desk…my starts pile…I just simply pulled them together to make this card! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Watermelon Wonder, folded in half.
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White.
On the right side is a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Cherry on Top Designer Paper.
Happy Birthday was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink and the top colored with the Hello Honey Marker.
Two of the flowers were stamped with Tuxedo Black on Watermelon Wonder and the centers on Hello Honey, then punched with the Pansy Punch and the centers cut out by hand. A tiny Pearl is in the center of each.
The leaves were stamped with Tuxedo Black on Cucumber Crush and hand cut out.
The flowers were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pretty quick and easy…especially when you have the pieces done already! lol!

You’re Sublime Flower Wheelbarrow

I love this little flower wheelbarrow in the You’re Sublime stamp set, but I just recently used it. Don’t know why I was “saving” it! I had used every other image in the set! I also am on a mission to use up the leftover class packets that I have. Too many times I don’t use them or make them up and it is just a growing pile on my desk. So, even though this wasn’t the card we made in class, it does use the elements in the packet in a different way! Kind of fun and challenging…and not much cutting involved!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tip Top Taupe, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Bermuda Bay was embossed with the Elegant Dots folder.
Two strips of Cherry on Top DSP where crossed on the right side of the card.
The flower wheelbarrow image was stamped with Black Stazon, then using a Blender Pen and my Ink Pads, watercolored.
The image was stamped again on a scrap of the same DSP, then cut out around the flowers and paper pieced. Hopefully it ties the image together with the card!

Garden in Bloom Get Well

I needed to make a bunch of Get Well cards for several people I knew were in the hospital or had just gotten home. I pulled out my Garden in Bloom to make some up! Flowers are always cheerful, I think!

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Watermelon Wonder, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4, the large flower from Garden in Bloom was stamped with Crushed Curry and outlined with Watermelon Wonder.
The small flowers from Garden in Bloom were stamped with Watermelon Wonder, then outlined with Cherry Cobbler.
The leaves from Garden in Bloom were stamped with Old Olive and outlined with Mossy Meadow ink.
Happy Healing from And Many More was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink.
A Perfect White Accent was added to the center of the large flower! I love them…they do add just the perfect touch!

So VERY simple to mass produce, but I think they are sweet and will be appreciated by the recipient! I know I always love to receive happy mail!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop Shadow Box Card

Whew…I’ve had a lot of Blog Hops lately, haven’t I? This is is our regular Saturday Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop! As you recall, this month we are featuring special folds on our cards and Nicole chose the Shadow Box Card! I must admit…I absolutely LOVE my card! It came out exactly like I thought it would! You’ve probably just come from Deb Currier’s blog…fabulous, isn’t she?

So…what do you think of my little flower pot Shadow Box Card? Here are the details:

Cut one Tempting Turquoise Brights Patterns DSP and one Tempting Turquoise Cardstock sheet to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, score both at 1/2, 1, 4-1/2, and 5.
Cut the center out of the printed sheet using the Circle Framelit (6th from smallest).
On the back Tempting Turquoise cardstock, build your scene between the two scorelines.
I tore a piece of Old Olive for the ground.
The flower pot was made by punching Tip Top Taupe with the top of the Note Tag Punch and cutting the 2-1/2 Circle in half. On the circle, I stamped the “stem” from Garden in Bloom with Tip Top Taupe to make horizontal lines.
On Whisper White, I stamped the large flower with Crushed Curry and outlined with Tip Top Taupe. The small flowers were 3-step stamped with Pumpkin Pie and Watermelon Wonder (stamp off for the first solid image, then inside image is full strength and outside lines are Tip Top Taupe). Stamp the large and small leaves with Old Olive on Whisper White and outline with Mossy Meadow Ink. Cut all images out and arrange in flower pot with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (Add the flowers first, then fill in with leaves.)
Add Pearls to the centers of the small flowers and a large Perfect White Accent to the center of the large flower.
Finally, I thought it needed a little something in the background, so I punched the “frosting” from the Tree Builder Punch from Whisper White for a cloud!
To finish building the card, add Sticky Strip on the end tabs and place both pieces together. The folds will make a shadowbox look!

OK…now admit…isn’t that stinkin’ cute? I just giggled when it was done! lol!

CCM361 Sprinkles of Life

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! It’s a fun sketch this week!

And here’s what I did using Sprinkles of Life again.

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the 2 x 5 strip of Cherry on Top Designer paper was cut to a flag end towards the right side, then left a gap as the sketch dictated.
Linen Thread was wrapped around and tied in a bow.
Sprinkles greeting was stamped with Real Red Ink above the DSP.
A 2-1/2 Circle was punched from Real red cardstock and adhered on the front.
The base of the cupcake was stamped with Tip Top Taupe on Tip Top Taupe cardstock, then hand cut.
The top was punched with the Tree Builder Punch, then stamped with Real Red and Cucumber Crush sprinkles.
The candle was stamped with Tip Top Taupe and colored with Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers.
The cupcake was placed on the Real Red circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Petite Petals punch from Daffodil Delight cardstock and a Perfect White Accent added to the center, and adhered next to the cupcake.

Hawaii Achievers June Blog Hop

While I was in Hawaii, I picked up some of these cute Hawaii pens as a thank you for my Stamp Club members and hostesses. Like usual, I didn’t think to photograph until I had already given a bunch of them out. But, here’s what the group looks like of those remaining:

So…what is new and old on here?

I stamped the larger Flower Patch flower with Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White and then the center with new Watermelon Wonder Ink. It was cut out with the Flower Fair Framelit.
I added a new Perfect White Accent to the center of the flower.
The cello bag topper was cut 2 x 3-1/2 from new Mint Macaron cardstock. The cardstock was slipped into the back of the Decorative Label Punch to get the decorative edge.
I stamped the leaves image from Kinda Eclectic with new Cucumber Crush Ink on top.
I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp to spell out Mahalo (Thank You) inked with new Watermelon Wonder ink on a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White, then cut the flag end.
I added the pens to the 1 x 8 cello bag, then stapled the topper on it.

Garden in Bloom

I think everyone knows that I’m a big proponent of using up the “starts” on my desk whenever I can! They can get overwhelming. Well, the flower and leaves were a “start” on my desk left over from another project. I just needed to finish up the card to put it on! Since Cherry on Top Designer Paper Stack was on my desk, too, it got the nod to use…lol!

Here are the details.

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Watermelon Wonder.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Cherry on Top Designer Paper was placed. Then a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of the reverse side was added over that.
The flower was stamped with Watermelon Wonder once, turned and stamped off the second time. Then the outline image was stamped with Cherry Cobbler over top. Then it was hand cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were stamped with with Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush over it, then cut out.
An In Color Blossom Accent was added to the center of the flower and a rhinestone in the center of it.
The greeting was stamped with Cucumber Crush, and a few more rhinestones were added for a little extra bling.
