IM214 – Garden Greenhouse

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a pretty pillow for our inspiration.

GARDEN GREENHOUSE

I search thru the stamp sets in the Jan-June Mini Catalog for a leaf that looked a little similar to this pillow. I didn’t want to use the same set that Mary did either! I came up with the leaf cluster in the Garden Greenhouse stamp set.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight cardstock.
- The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock was randomly stamped with the Garden Greenhouse leaf in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Inks.
- A 1 x 3-3/4 piece of Pool Party cardstock was placed across the front towards the bottom.
- A label from the Hippo & Friends Dies was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock (have you gotten these dies yet??? I love the labels in it!) It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- One of the leaf clusters was stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White and cut with the Dies.
- Two flowers were stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Dies.
- They were assembled and adhered next to the label.
- A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the label and background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Kids Valentine

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is a “Kids Valentine”. It has been on my agenda to make my grandkids’ Valentines this week! This card is one I created for a Scrap Paper Scissors card buffet class a couple weeks ago!

AWESOME OTTERS

It took me a while to warm up to this set, but after I stamped a couple cards, I’m loving it more and more! Awesome Otters is one of the FREE with purchase Sale-A-Bration stamp sets you can get thru the end of February!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather cardstock is added on top.
A 3 x 4 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper was added to the center.
The 1 x 4 piece of Real Red was stamped with the greeting from Awesome Otters in Memento Black Ink, then added to the front.
The tag was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Sweet Hearts Dies, then stamped with the otter from Awesome Otters in Memento Black Ink. He was colored with Light Gray Granite and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.
A 3″ piece of Black & White Gingham Ribbon (carryover from the Holiday Mini) was stapled to the top of the tag and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A small heart cut from Real Red cardstock and cut with the Sweet Hearts Die was added to his hand with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – New Beginnings

Happy New Year everyone! It is the start of new beginnings, isn’t it? I wish for you a lovely year!

We are starting off the new year with the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop featuring “New Beginnings”…cards that use products from the January-June Mini Catalog! How appropriate! I had to pull out the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set and punch for this card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the circle from Watercolor Shapes in Real Red Ink randomly in the background.
A 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper was added towards the right side.
A 1 x 4 strip of Real Red cardstock was added on top, then a 1/8 x 4 strip of Basic Black on top of it!
The ladybug body was stamped with Memento Black Ink and the wings with Real Red Ink, the spots with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. It was punched with the Ladybug Builder Punch.
The leaf was stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ladybug was added to the leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Hello was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/4 x 1-1/2 strip of Basic White and cut with a flag end. It was tucked under the leaf and over the Basic Black strip.
A Red Rhinestone was added to the leaf.

I also made up some gifts for a few stamping friends and downline using the same idea/layout and covered one of our stamping cases. Inside I filled with a Simply Shammy and wrapped up in a cello bag with a Christmas tag and ribbon. They can keep this stamp cleaner on their stamping desk all year round!

CCMC696 – Bouquet of Love

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a great color combination this week! I know it is appropriate for New Year’s, but I’m ready to jump onto the next holiday…Valentine’s Day!

BOUQUET OF LOVE HYBRID EMBOSSING FOLDER/DIES

I wanted to use the stitched heart in the new Bouquet o Love Hybrid EF/Dies and didn’t realize that the stitching is on the OUTSIDE of the heart, so then adapted my card to use the reverse heart! It actually turned out better!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Next is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock.
A 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Pattern Party DSP (Host only) was added to the Basic Black, then some Simply Elegant Silver Cord wrapped around twice and tied in a bow. It was added to the base card.
The Stitched Heart was cut from a 2-3/4 x 3 piece of Silver Foil and the reverse image used. A 2-3/4 x 3 piece of Basic Black was added to the back. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The trio of flowers from the Dies were cut from Basic White cardstock and added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Sweet Conversations was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and cut with the label from the Dies. It was added across the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Basic Rhinestones were added to the flowers for a little bling!

This just might be my hubby’s card this year. Even with the flowers, it has a masculine feel with the fun black and white buffalo check print! Go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this color combination over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Creatively Simple 17 – Stitched Snowflakes

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Christmas” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme! For our last week, we are focusing on winter thank you cards since it is after Christmas.

I love these Stitched Snowflake Dies…I think they are one of the best ones that Stampin’ Up! has designed. And you know I have had ALL the snowflake sets! The stitching just adds so much interest and texture! I also love this color combination for winter (as you can tell from our Create logo!) I’ve had these snowflakes sitting on my desk from different projects that I didn’t use them on. They came together on this card pretty easily!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Fresh Freesia is “embossed” with the snowflake border die in Stitched Snowflakes Dies, then stamped with some background snow in Fresh Freesia Ink towards the bottom right.
The Stitched Snowflakes were cut from Basic White and Pool Party cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thank You So Much from Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Pool Party cardstock, the end cut at an angle and adhered over the solid snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Subtle Shimmer Sequins were adhered in the background.

IM208 – Heartfelt Wishes

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! Isn’t this a pretty wreath to bring in the New Year? Golds, Silvers, Black and White! So festive! I used mostly the colors and wreath shape for my card.

HEARTFELT WISHES

If you don’t already have this word set, you might want to grab it before it goes away at the end of this mini catalog! It has some REALLY nice and different greetings in it for year around use. I felt Cheers was appropriate for this holiday!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 4 piece of Simply Elegant Designer Paper was added to the top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
- Some Gold Shimmer Ribbon was added to hide the seam and adhered in the back.
- The greeting in Heartfelt Wishes stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the bottom.
- The Encircled in Beauty medallion was cut with the dies from Gold Metallic Paper.
- Cheers from Heartfelt Wishes stamp set was stamped on Basic White cardstock with Memento Black Ink and cut with the scallop Layering Circle Die. It was added to the next largest Layering Circle, cut from Basic Black cardstock. They were all adhered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of black Cute Stars (again…be quick to grab these before they are gone!) were added around the greeting for a little bling!

IM207 – Delicate Baubles

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have some pretty pastel Christmas ornaments. These would look gorgeous in my Florida home!

DELICATE BAUBLES

I’ve used the Delicate Baubles arabesque shape a LOT for all my character cards, but I also fell in love with this snowflake design! Thought it was a perfect time to use it!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mint Macaron cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is added on top.
- Two 3/4 x 4 pieces of Whimsy & Wonder DSP were adhered at the top and bottom.
- The greeting from Classic Cloche was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the bottom.
- The Delicate Bauble ornament solid shape was cut from Mint Macaron cardstock and the snowflake detail shape from Gold Metallic Paper. They were adhered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Gold Shimmer Ribbon was tied in a bow, then added to the top of the ornament with a Mini Glue Dot. A 2″ length was also adhered behind the top and to the back of the Basic White.
- A Clear Basic Rhinestone was added to the center of the snowflake ornament.

Saturday Blog Hop – Winter Wonderland

This month our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is featuring blog hop themes from popular Christmas carols. This week is the song “Winter Wonderland” and will run for TWO WEEKS so our Design Team can enjoy the holidays! We’ll be back on January 1st! Wishing you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

CLOCHE DIES

I love the little tree dies in the Cloche Dies Set, so knew I had to create a little winter “scene” with them!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Silver Metallic Paper is added down the center.
A 3-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of the snowflake pattern in Peaceful Place Designer Paper has a 1 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cut on a curve for the “snowbank” at the bottom. It is added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Snowbody Better was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on the snowbank.
The trees were cut from Basic White cardstock and Silver Metallic Paper and added along the top of the snowbank with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The birch trees adhered in the back.
Some silver Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a knot and added to the larger tree with a Mini Glue Dot.
