CCMC705 – Let’s Set Sail

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Today is a fun sketch…my card came together really quickly!

LET’S SET SAIL

I didn’t think I needed this Let’s Set Sail bundle, but the Sailboat Builder Punch kept calling my name, so I broke down and got it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4. The front portion only was embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder (I love that it looks like waves!)
A 1 x 5-1/2 strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock was added across the front.
The large Scallop Rectangle was cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies from Basic White cardstock.
The bottom of the rectangle was stamped with the “water” and Balmy Blue Ink. The shadow of the boat and greeting with Misty Moonlight Ink. The boat mast and birds were stamped with Early Espresso Ink and the sails with Bumblebee Ink.
A 1″ stitched circle from Picture This Dies cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock for the sun, and the small cloud from Brilliant Rainbow Dies and Basic White cardstock, both popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, complete the card!

CCMC704 – Your Biggest Fan

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have fun color combination. When I laid out the colors on my desk, the bright colors immediately reminded me of SPORTS teams!

YOUR BIGGEST FAN

I really love the Hey Sports Designer Paper…the images are easy to cut out. I’ve paired it with the coordinating Your Biggest Fan stamp set and Sports Events Dies!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 1-3/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Hey Sports Fan Designer Paper was added to the right side.
A coordinating 1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of striped Hey Sports Fan DSP was added on top.
A few stars were stamped with Night of Navy Ink in the corners of the base card.
The 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was stamped with Happy Birthday in Night of Navy Ink and the stars with Bumblebee Ink using the Your Biggest Fan Stamp Set. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The row of tickets was cut with the Sports Events Dies from Night of Navy cardstock and adhered across the front.
The Yah pennant was cut from the DSP and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The #1 was cut with the Dies from Bumblebee cardstock and added with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The ticket was cut with the Dies from Poppy Parade cardstock and added under the Very Vanilla panel and the stars added to the background.
I colored some White Baker’s Twine with Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends. Let dry and then tied in a bow around the stem of the pennant.

Creatively Simple 25 – Chasing Butterflies

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Birthday”, and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s Chasing Butterflies on today’s card since I think she is adorable! I have several birthday cards I need to send out this month!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock.
A 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of striped Sunshine & Rainbows DSP was added towards the left side. Another 1 x 4 piece of coordinating Sunshine & Rainbows DSP was added towards the bottom.
A Scalloped Contour Rectangle was cut from Basic White and stamped with the little girl from Chasing Butterflies in Memento Black Ink. She was colored with So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Pool Party and Natural Tones SU900 Stampin’ Blends. Her cheeks with Light Flirty Flamingo. The ground was stamped with Pool Party Ink. The scallop rectangle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Only the word Celebrate was inked with a Basic Black Marker and stamped on a 1/2 x 2 piece of So Saffron cardstock, the end trimmed at an angle. It was added with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The butterflies were stamped with Pool Party Ink in the upper right corner.
Two Brushed Brass Butterflies were added to the background.

IM216 – Flowering Rain Boots

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a bright and cheery door wreath for our inspiration!

FLOWERING RAIN BOOTS

Wow…I’ve used this set a LOT more than I expected that I would! I just LOVE the rain boots AND the watering can! For this one, I nestled the boots inside a “carpet” of flowers!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
- A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Pattern Party (Host only) Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
- The rain boots from Flowering Rain Boots were stamped with Crushed Curry Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock and cut with the Rain Boots Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The flowers were stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with the Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends for the centers, the cut with the Rain Boots Die. They were popped up around the Rain Boots with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The leaves were stamped with Old Olive Ink and colored with Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Dies and trimmed the stems off. They were tucked in around the flowers.
- The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
- Some Classic Matte Dots were added to the background.

Creatively Simple 24 – Your Biggest Fan

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s Your Biggest Fan Bundle on today’s card…it is a recent addition to my collection! A couple of my grandkids are playing sports now, so figure it will get some use! I like that you can cut the DSP with the dies like I did here.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock is added on top.
The 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Hey Sports Fan DSP was placed across the front.
The pennant from the DSP was cut with the Sports Events Die. The fringe of the pennant was cut with the die from Night of Navy cardstock and the row of tickets from Real Red cardstock.
They were assembled on the front and the pennant is added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The small ticket was cut from Real Red cardstock and just the stars used for the background.
Happy Birthday was stamped with Night of Navy Ink.

IM215 – Dahlia Days

Happy Monday and Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have some pretty vases for our inspiration piece!

DAHLIA DAYS

I just ordered this set, so wanted to spotlight the center vase by featuring it on today’s card! Especially since Mary had her card done first and used the obvious rainbows on the vases! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
- A 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of polka dot Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
- A 1/4 x 5-1/4 stripe piece of Sunshine & Rainbows DSP was added to hide the seam.
- The greeting from Dahlia Days was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
- Two of the flowers were stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink and two leaf trios with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Detailed Dahlia Dies. They were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Polished Dots were added to the center of the flowers and the background.

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a timely color challenge for you this week, perfect for Valentine’s Day!

CHASING BUTTERFLIES

Chasing Butterflies is another cute stamp set that Stampin’ Up! has available to pick up FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase (US). This card is going out to my granddaughter for Valentine’s Day! (The boys are getting robot cards!) Did you notice her hair has Highland Heather highlights? Too funny!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper was added to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
A 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Real Red cardstock was added to hide the seam.
The greeting from Chasing Butterflies was stamped with Real Red Ink above the DSP.
The little girl from Chasing Butterflies was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with Highland Heather, Real Red, Dark So Saffron and SU900 Stampin’ Blends. The checks are Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. Note: The polka dots on her dress were just hand drawn.
A few hearts cut from the Sweet Heart Dies were added to the background.

Creatively Simple 23 – Calming Camellia

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s new host set, Calming Camellia, for today’s card! You can get it FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration! It isn’t usually a style I gravitate to, so it was a little different working with it, but I like the outcome! I used some cheery bright colors.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Magenta Madness cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the greenery leaf and Pear Pizzazz Ink randomly.
A 1 x 4 strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was added across the front, then a 1/8 x 4 strip of Magenta Madness cardstock added over that.
Happy Birthday from Calming Camellia stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the label in the Bouquet of Love Dies. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front.
A bow was tied from Magenta Madness Open Weave Ribbon and added with a Mini Glue Dot next to the label.
A trio of In Color Jewels (pink) were added to the background.
