Around the World Blog Hop – Monochrome Rainbow

I’m so excited to be asked to be a Guest Designer for a special edition of “Around the World on Wednesday” Blog Hop. They have rounded up some of the ORIGINAL “Tour the Freaks” Blog Hoppers to join them for their April Blog Hop featuring a Monochromatic Rainbow! How fun is that!

I was assigned “Blue” for my color and thought it would be perfect for a masculine card. I can never get too many ideas for them! I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s A Good Man with Well Suited Designer Paper for today’s Center Fold-Out Easel Card. I always love making special fold cards! This card is perfect for the guy in your life…no ribbon, no bling…just stamping and coloring!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Pacific Point cardstock.
Two 1-1/4 x 4 pieces of Well Suited Designer Paper were added to each end.
A second piece of Pacific Point cardstock is cut to 3 x 8-1/2, then scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4. It was folded as shown and adhere in the center area of the base.
A 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Night of Navy cardstock was adhered on the bottom to the easel portion.
The 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the image from A Good Man, then colored with Balmy Blue Combo, Night of Navy Combo, Ivory, and Pool Party Combo Stampin’ Blends.
The greeting from A Good Man was stamped with Pacific Point Ink in the upper right corner.
A 1-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Night of Navy cardstock was added to the bottom of the easel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (This allows the easel portion to tuck behind it and stay up.)
The 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the A Good Man greeting and added to the Night of Navy.
A little Wink of Stella was added to the water under the chair.

It folds flat so it will easily fit in a regular envelope.

IM171 – Dandelion Wishes

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a “mod” flower print! For some reason, the 60s and 70s comes to mind with this photo!

DANDELION WISHES

Although not “mod” flowers, I did think the Dandelion Wishes images looked a lot like the print, so I created my own “designer paper” for the background. (How many of you remember when that was our only option? Very limited selections of Designer Paper back when I started!) Make sure to grab your set…this is on the retiring list!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded. The fold is placed on the left side.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray was added to the front.
- The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of Basic White cardstock was randomly stamped with the dandelion image in Dandelion Wishes stamp set with Granny Apple Green, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Inks. It was added to the front.
- A 1 x 4 piece of Basic Gray and 1/2 x 4-3/4 of Smoky Slate cardstocks were added across the front.
- The greeting from Dandelion Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock, then cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Die.
- Some Well Suited Gray Twine was wrapped several times and adhered over the cardstock strips. The greeting label was added over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of Opal Rounds were added in the background for a little bling!

Saturday Blog Hop – “Yellow Submarine”

This month our blog hop themes will be songs that have a color name in the title! This week we are featuring “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles! So…cards that are predominantly yellow!

UNDER MY UMBRELLA

I’m on a mission to use my retiring Stampin’ Up! stamps at least a couple times before they go away. Yes, I know I can still use them after, but I do tend to use only current products on my blog, as you know!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 So Saffron cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top, the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock has two 3/4 x 5-1/4 pieces of Flowers for Every Season DSP added to eac side.
The largest Stitched Circle Die (retiring!) was cut from Basic White cardstock, then stamped off with raindrops in Gray Granite Ink. The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
On a scrap piece of Basic White, the rainboots, flower cluster and umbrella handle were stamped with Memento Black Ink, then colored with So Saffron, Mango Melody and a tiny bit of Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. They were hand-cut and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The closed umbrella was stamped on the Flowers for Every Season DSP with Memento Black Ink and hand-cut. It was also added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The circle was added to the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Champagne Rhinestones were added to the center of the flower and the background.

CCMC658 – Sweet Ice Cream

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a fun color challenge for you this week!

SWEET ICE CREAM

Ice cream comes in ALL different colors in my world! So I used the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and punch on today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of striped Ice Cream Corner Designer Paper is added on top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White.
The 3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Daffodil Delight placed on top.
Next some White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon was wrapped around and tied in a knot on the left side. The Basic White layer was then added to the base card.
A scallop rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ice cream cone was stamped off Blackberry Bliss Ink and the criss-cross with full strength ink on Basic White cardstock. One scoop of stamped off Daffodil Delight Ink and one scoop of Bermuda Bay Ink is stamped on Basic White. The sprinkles were stamped on the Bermuda Bay scoop with Blackberry Bliss Ink. All were punched with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, then added to the rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
You’re So Cool greeting from Sweet Ice Cream was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 2 piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, then end cut at an angle, added to the front under the cone with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some yellow Sprinkles were added to the top scoop.

IM170 – Beautiful Friendship

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a different home décor photo to inspire us. I actually love the white and navy cabinets on this remodeled kitchen, along with the gold accents! So, I used those colors as my inspiration for my card.

BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP

With the retirement of so many favorite sets, I decided to pull out my well-loved Beautiful Friendship stamp set one more time. I love the rose image in it and all the fonts in the greetings. This card came together really quickly!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blushing Bride cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of retiring Boho Indigo Designer Paper was added to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Night of Navy cardstock.
- The retiring gold Boho Indigo Ribbon was wrapped around the front and secured in the back on each end, plus a 3″ tail was cut.
- The largest scallop rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock.
- The roses from retiring Beautiful Friendship were stamped on the scallop rectangle in the upper left corner with Blushing Bride Ink, the leaves with stamped off Soft Suede Ink. The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy Ink. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The 3″ tail of ribbon was folded in half and added under the rectangle with a Mini Glue Dot.
- A trio of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (also retiring!) were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – “Nights in White Satin”

This month we will be using song titles for our inspiration. This week’s blog hop theme is “Nights in White Satin” sung by The Moody Blues! We will be making cards that are predominately white! I admit I’m slightly obsessed with the Pierced Blooms Dies…I just love the stitching on them! So, I used this set once again!

IN BLOOM STAMPS & PIERCED BLOOMS DIES

Stampin’ Details:

The base 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was cut with the Stitched Whimsy Dies.
The greeting from In Bloom stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
A variety of Pierced Blooms flowers and leaves were cut from Basic White cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Pearl embellishments were added to the centers and background.

Pretty simple directions, but all the layers of flowers really make a gorgeous card! That stitching just does ALL the work! Hello! Happy April Fool’s Day…but this post isn’t a joke! lol! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Love the sketch today!

BUTTERFLY BRILLIANCE

Well, I really didn’t use anything from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set, but I did use the dies! I love that the Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper (sadly sold out) has butterflies that you can cut out with the dies! You could easily substitute and make this card with the stamp set, too!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of So Saffron cardstock was embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder and added on top.
A 3 x 3 piece of Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper was added to a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, then added to the front.
A 5/8 x 3-3/4 strip of Butterfly Bijou DSP was added across the DSP.
A 3/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Calypso Coral cardstock was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The circle was cut with the Layering Circles Dies and stamped with the greeting from Oval Occasions stamp set in Memento Black Ink. It was added to the front, tucked under the Calypso Coral strip.
Two butterflies were cut from the Butterfly Bijou DSP with the Dies, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Matte Black Dots were added to the bodies of the butterflies.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have some gorgeous hydrangea cupcakes!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

I couldn’t resist using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set to make a couple paper cupcakes! Aren’t these fun?

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Seaside Spray cardstock was embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.
- A 2 x 4 piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper was added to the left side.
- The Gorgeous Grape Sheer ribbon was wrapped around and tied at a bow towards the top.
- A 1 x 4-3/4 piece of Highland Heather cardstock was added across the front.
- The greeting was stamped with Memento Black on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Hydrangeas Die label. It was added under the ribbon with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Two “pots” from the Potted Succulents Dies were cut from Early Espresso cardstock and embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.
- One of the large hydrangea blossoms and three of the single flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Seaside Spray and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Hydrangea Dies. The large blossom was then trimmed in half and adhered for the tops of the cupcakes. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The trio of single flowers were added along the bottom of the cupcakes.
- A trio of Pastel Pearls were added to the background.
