IM161 – Lots of Heart

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a lovely Valentine wreath for our inspiration!  Don’t you LOVE the red and black buffalo print they used, and I love this color combination!

 

LOTS OF HEART

I knew right away I would use the buffalo check heart in Lots of Heart…and the In Good Taste Designer Paper worked great for the background!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock.
    • The In Good Taste Designer Paper is cut to 3-3/4 x 5, then added to the front.
    • The buffalo check heart in Lots of Heart was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Poppy Parade cardstock, then cut with the Many Hearts Die.
    • It was layered on the scallop heart cut from Poppy Parade cardstock with the Many Hearts Die.  Both were popped up and added to the front.
    • The XO was cut from 3/4 x 2-1/2 Basic Black cardstock and layered on a 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake.  It was added on the front of the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A bow was tied from Linen Thread and added to the top of the heart with a Mini Glue Dot.
    • Three Matte Black Dots were added in the background.

Don’t you think this card looks like a wreath on a door?  Great masculine card…think I’ll save it for my husband’s Valentine card!  OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – Love is in the Air

This week’s blog hop theme is “Love is in the Air”, a Valentine card!  I grabbed the Hearts & Kisses stamp set and punch.  I love the SWAK lips!

HEARTS & KISSES

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base 4-1/4 x 11 of Blushing Bride cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red is added on top.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White has the lipstick swipe stamped twice with Blushing Bride ink in the lower right corner.
  • A Stampin’ Dimensional holds the Red Twine Ribbon in place.
  • A Scallop Heart was punched from Real Red cardstock and added on front.
  • Sealed with a Kiss is stamped on 3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White and the end cut at an angle.  It is adhered to the heart.
  • The lips were stamped with Blushing Bride Ink on Basic White and punched with the Kiss punch.
  • Two Resin Hearts were added to the background.

CCMC648 – Pretty Perennials

Happy Thursday…can you believe another week has rolled around?  I can’t!  It is already the end of January!  Wow!  This week is a fun color challenge for you to try!

I knew I wanted flowers…and I tried a couple sets, but settled on Pretty Perennials for today’s card.  I also love the black/white graphics in the True Love Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Magenta Madness, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White was added on top and stamped with the Pretty Perennial happy greeting in Magenta Madness and the Sending Lots of in Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
  • A 3 x 3 piece of True Love Designer Paper was added towards the top.
  • The large flower was stamped with Magenta Madness Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Perennial Dies.  The smaller flower was cut with the die twice, once from Basic White and once from Magenta Madness.  The Basic White one was added to the large flower, and the petals added to the outline of the Magenta Madness one.  The large flower is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two of the sprigs were cut from Magenta Madness and tucked under the larger flower.
  • Matte Black Dots were added to the centers of each flower.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a pretty floral print to inspire us!

 

ART GALLERY

It is funny, but I rarely take time to pull out my embossing powder and embossing gun.  I don’t know why since I LOVE the look and fun of embossing!  This time I embossed directly on the designer paper!

 

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was dry embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.
    • Some navy Well Suited Twine was wrapped around the Crumb Cake three times, then the panel adhered to the base card.
    • The flower from Art Gallery was stamped with Versamark Ink on the 2-3/4 x 4 piece of In Good Taste Designer Paper and embossed with White Embossing Powder.
    • The DSP was layered on a 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Thank you from Art Gallery was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch. It was layered on the Scallop Oval on the Double Punch from Misty Moonlight cardstock.
    • A trio of Misty Moonlight Enamel Dots was added to the center of the flower.
    • More navy Well Suited Twine was tied in a bow and added to the stem.

Isn’t that a very different look…a cross between masculine colors and florals!  But, it looks like the inspiration piece, right?  OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – Non-traditional Valentine

This week’s blog hop theme is “Non-Traditional Valentine Colors”, no red or pink.  Hmmm, this was a little more challenging than I thought it would be since I already used my yellow and blue Valentine earlier this month!  But, I remember thinking that the cactus in Flowering Cactus stamp set looked like a heart, so I went with this card and used green!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base 4-1/4 x 11 of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White cardstock, a 2 x 5 piece of Flowering Cactus Designer Paper was added down the right side (do you see all the hearts???)
  • A 3 x 3-1/2 piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was added on top.
  • Then a 2 x 3-1/4 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the Happy Heart Day greeting from Arrange a Wreath in Memento Black Ink in the upper left corner.
  • The heart cactus was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Flowering Cactus Dies.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The purple flowers were cut from the Designer Paper with the Flowering Cactus Dies and added to the cactus on front.
  • Two white Resin Hearts were added to the background.

CCMC647 Darling Donkeys

It’s Thursday again and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  This week is a fun sketch challenge!  We hope you play along!

I grabbed my free Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Darling Donkeys to use for the first time!  This really is a CUTE set!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Bermuda Bay Oh So Ombre (another FREE Sale-A-Bration selection) is added to the front.
  • A coordinating 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of the Old Olive Oh So Ombre DSP was added on top.
  • The 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Bermuda Bay was added on top.
  • The donkey from Darling Donkeys Stamp Set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and cut with the Stitched Shapes Circle.  He was colored with Gray Granite Combo and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.  The circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, the bottom under the Bermuda Bay strip.
  • Hee Haw from Darling Donkeys was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 1-3/4 Basic White cardstock, the end cut at an angle, then adhered to the front.
  • A trio of Adhesive Sequins were added to the background.

Control Freaks January 2021

Hi! Welcome to the monthly Tour de Freaks, brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! The theme this month is the new “January-June Mini Catalog”!  So many great new products…I still haven’t played with them all!  You’ve probably just come from my good friend Melissa Davies!  She has such great ideas!  And, just click on the link below to take you around the entire blog hop for some GREAT inspiration!

SWEET ICE CREAM

I love the Ice Cream punch…and I’ve combined it with another favorite…the Stitched with Whimsy Dies!  Oh my!  They do “melt my heart”!  This was one of my cards for a recent swap!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2  and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sea Foam cardstock was “embossed” with the Stitched with Whimsy Dies.
    • A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Ice Cream Corner DSP was added to the front with a 1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Magenta Madness cardstock on top.
    • A circle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Layering Circles Die and stamped with the greeting from Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in Early Espresso Ink.  it was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The cone was stamped off with Cinnamon Cider Ink and the cross hash with full strength and punched with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.
    • The ice cream was stamped with Soft Sea Foam and Magenta Madness Ink on Basic White cardstock, the chips with Early Espresso and sprinkles with Poppy Parade Ink, and punched with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.  These were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.
    • A red Resin Heart was added to the circle for a little bling.

This Sweet Ice Cream bundle is SO much fun!  OK…next up on the Control Freaks Blog Hop is the fabulous Melissa Stout.  I know you’ll enjoy her projects, too!

Maui Achievers Blog Hop – January 2021

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve both Maui trips that will be held in May 2021 (hopefully!)   January’s blog hop theme is ANYTHING CURRENT!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

My girlfriend has a special birthday milestone this year and I wanted to make her a special card!  I love Hydrangeas and I’m pretty sure she does, too, so I grabbed my Hydrangea Haven Bundle to make her card.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was put on top.
  • I cut some unique shaped pieces of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper for the background and left space to place some Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon thru the center diagonally.
  • The Stitched So Sweetly rectangles were cut from Highland Heather and Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The hydrangea was stamped with Memento Black and the blossom fill with Highland Heather Ink.  The small blossom fill was stamped over top with Seaside Spray Ink to give it a two-tone look.  The stem and leaves fill were stamped with Old Olive Ink.  It was cut with the Hydrangea Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on 3/4 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle.
  • A trio of Pastel Pearls were added in the background.

I just love how this turned out…especially the background designer paper on here!
